The past two weeks...

First of all, Carolin somehow ended up with Scarlet Fever, an illness which I thought had died along with the heroines of countless novels up until the 19th century. The main effects were that she was rather more subdued and not allowed to attend Kindergarten for a week.

Also, on Sunday I saw this incredible car...

...except that it was driving on the street, not through a mountain pass of ice and marble.

And this guy came to my house to clean the chimney and I forgot to shake his hand for luck, but I'm not sure I could have managed because my hand was already occupied with holding Felix (my goodness that kid is getting heavy).

I'm so gald you had a good time while I was there. I feel like I became something of an expert navigating with an umbrella in a crowd.
See if you can get a picture of a craftsman so you can tell that story, It is such an interesting bit of antiquity and seems so normal to the Germans. You don't have a photo of the village shepherd, do you?

Dad- I totally thought you were going to say you wanted me to bring the chimneysweep home. Oh well.
Twig- me too.
Mom- I must say that Umbrella navigation should be a required course in a place that it rains so much, but the Oregonians take such pride in going about without an umbrella that it seems a hopeless cause. Yeah, I'm gonna have to keep looking for a craftsman. They're kinda hard to find. We'll see. I'll try to get a pic of the village shepherd as well. Who knows?
